Part-Time Boarding Advisor Contract $26.00/hour (20 hours per week)

The position of Part-Time Boarding Advisor is responsible for supporting the overall physical, academic, social and emotional wellbeing of the students. The Part-Time Boarding Advisor supports boarding activities in the evening, overnight, and/or weekend shifts. Weekends will vary, and may include half day, full day, overnight, full weekend shifts or as needed.
What You’ll Do
- Monitors students’ social, physical, academic and emotional progress and acts as a mentor by interacting with students in a variety of formal and informal ways
- Assists the boarding staff in ensuring the health, safety and well-being of all boarders. This includes carrying out shifts in the Boarding Office, updating daily logs and reports, executing various safety, social, and attendance rounds as assigned, supervising meals, assisting with the evening study program, and administering basic first aid
- Supports the Boarding Program, including activities that promote inclusion, belonging, community involvement and student well-being
- Adheres to the policies and procedures of the School and the Boarding Program (as outlined in the Boarding Handbook)
- Intervenes in situations where the safety and well-being of a student is compromised
- Embeds diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging values into all processes
Who You Are
- Relevant experience working with adolescent girls
- Currently enrolled in, or graduated from, a university/college program in a related area of discipline
- Experience in the field working with individuals managing health issues, physical and medical support needs in the community, or an equivalent combination
- Culturally competent with a positive attitude toward cultural uniqueness and a readiness to accept and respect others
- Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment
- Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office
