Core responsibilities
- Provide cultural, language, and emotional support to indigenous students.
- Act as a positive indigenous role model.
- Support academic, cultural, social, and emotional needs of students.
- Communicate with teachers and parents to promote student success.
- Assist in literacy and numeracy programming.
- Advocate for students and participate in school-Based team.
- Provide administrative reports to school and indigenous education department
Requirements summary
- Completion of grade 12 (Dogwood certificate).
- Two years related experience working with indigenous families and children including indigenous education component.
- Valid b.c.
- Driver's license class 5 with good driving record.
- 6 months relevant experience with indigenous students.
- Familiarity with local indigenous communities and band offices.
- Whmis certificate and knowledge of work safe bc procedures
