Core responsibilities
- Assists with the day-To-Day activities of the infant room to ensure it is operating professionally.
- Plans and implements age-Appropriate infant programs.
- Participates in secwépemc language mentoring.
- Implements culturally appropriate curriculum.
- Documents and reports child behavioral concerns.
- Completes childcare duties (Diapering, feeding, etc.).
- Sanitizes and prepares bottles.
- Teaches children feeding and communication skills.
- Implements schedules and routines.
- Maintains supervision and a safe environment.
- Fosters positive social interactions.
- Builds relationships with parents.
- Organizes the infant room for monthly themes.
- Assists with household chores.
- Reports equipment issues.
- Participates in training and meetings.
- Promotes the organization and its activities.
- Maintains confidentiality.
- Participates in language and motor development programs.
- Mentors practicum students.
- Documents daily activities.
- Washes laundry.
- Schedules nap times.
- Performs related duties as required
Requirements summary
Early childhood education certificate/Diploma or equivalent, 2 years related experience, infant/Toddler certificate, language proficiency or willingness to complete, criminal record check, valid license, first aid and cpr, food safe certificate, physical exam and tb test, working with aboriginal children is an asset.
