Core responsibilities

The registered nurse provides nursing care to high-Risk critically ill clients with unpredictable outcomes attached to life-Support equipment, or clients in post-Anaesthetic recovery, working both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team. This role involves enhancing quality of life from the client/Family perspective, consulting with other caregivers, and maintaining and advancing clinical competence.

Requirements summary

Applicants must be eligible for post-Basic training education, prioritized for those with approximately two years of recent acute medical/Surgical experience before the critical care program start date. Candidates accepting this training opportunity must successfully complete the required post-Basic training education and agree to remain with vancouver coastal health for at least 18 months subsequent to training completion.
