Core responsibilities

The registered nurse provides nursing care to high-Risk critically ill clients with unpredictable outcomes attached to life-Support equipment, and/Or clients in post-Anaesthetic recovery, working both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team. Responsibilities include enhancing quality of life from the client/Family perspective, consulting with other caregivers, demonstrating expertise, and maintaining clinical competence.

Requirements summary

Applicants must be eligible for post-Basic training education, prioritized for those with approximately two years of recent acute medical/Surgical experience by the critical care program start date. Candidates must successfully complete the required post-Basic training education before working in the department and agree to remain with vancouver coastal health for at least 18 months after training completion.
