Lifeguards are primarily responsible for ensuring the safety and well-Being of campers during all lakefront activities, which includes providing supervision and delivering basic canoe and kayak instruction. They must also train camp staff and volunteers in waterfront safety procedures and assist in the delivery of general camp programs.
Candidates must possess current national lifeguard, cpr, and standard first aid certifications, along with experience lifeguarding in a summer camp waterfront setting and working with children. A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle are also required, and checks for child abuse registry and criminal records are mandatory upon hiring.
