The placement student will assist crisis response workers in responding to mental health crisis situations, providing both telephone and mobile in-Office/Community-Based assessment and intervention for children, youth, and their families. Specific tasks include implementing de-Escalation techniques, developing safety plans, completing necessary risk assessments, and providing transitional case management support.
Applicants must be currently pursuing a third-Year placement in a child and youth worker program or hold a bachelor of social work/Child and youth care degree. Required abilities include knowledge of mental health issues, strong interpersonal and communication skills, proven judgment, assessment abilities, and the capacity to develop therapeutic relationships quickly.
