The occupational therapist is responsible for developing programs that allow individuals, including children with autism spectrum disorder, to fully participate in daily life activities. Daily tasks involve assessing client needs, implementing treatment plans based on assessments, consulting with behaviour analysts, and maintaining knowledge of current evidence-Based practices.
Successful candidates must possess at least two years of experience working with children with asd and hold a master's degree in occupational therapy. Familiarity with various assessment tools and knowledge of current research in the field are also required, along with eligibility for the college of occupational therapists of ontario (Coto).
