The summer camp counsellor is responsible for implementing daily camp programs for children aged 6-12, ensuring their health and safety while providing a fun, active, and educational day camp experience. This includes monitoring participants, supporting all camp activities like trips and crafts, acting as a positive role model, and encouraging good hygiene.
Applicants must have completed a secondary school diploma and be between 18 and 30 years old at the start of employment, with postsecondary studies or experience in fields like early childhood education or social work being beneficial. Candidates must also possess first aid/Cpr training and demonstrate sensitivity when working with diverse families.
