The Summer Camp Counsellor is responsible for implementing daily camp programs for children aged 6-12, ensuring their health and safety while providing a fun, active, and educational day camp experience. This includes monitoring participants, supporting all camp activities like trips and crafts, acting as a positive role model, and encouraging good hygiene.
Applicants must have completed a Secondary School Diploma and be between 18 and 30 years old at the start of employment, with postsecondary studies or experience in fields like Early Childhood Education or Social Work being beneficial. Candidates must also possess First Aid/CPR training and demonstrate sensitivity when working with diverse families.

We are seeking a dynamic, highly motivated Child and Youth Worker who demonstrates our values of compassion, accountability, responsiveness and empowerment; to our clients, families and each other. The Summer Camp Counsellor is responsible for providing flexible and engaging programming for children in Grades J.K to 6, in a safe and stimulating environment. Summer Camp staff will provide a Safe, fun, physically active and educational day camp experience.
Temporary, 30-40 hours per week from June 22 2026 – August 14 2026. The rate of pay is $19.41
Implementation of the daily camp programs for children ages 6-12 years Ensure the health and safety of the children participation in the camp program Create a fun, experience rich, physically active and educational day camp experience for all campers Monitor and provide care for the children participating in the camp program Support and actively participate in all camp related activities (i.e. camp trips, games, crafts) Act as a positive role model and leader at all times Encourage camp participants to follow proper hygiene and cleanliness Build positive relationships with camp staff, participants and parents and/or caregiver To follow all policies and procedures as required Welcome, support and interact with all clients, including those from culturally diverse backgrounds, newcomers to Canada, LGBTQ2S+, young parents, etc.
Completion of Secondary School Diploma Applicant must be between 18 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment Postsecondary studies or previous experience in Early Childhood Education, Child and Youth Worker, Recreation Leadership, Social Service Worker, Social Work or a Social Service field Experience and sensitivity working with all families including those culturally diverse, LGBTQ2S+, young parents, etc. Must be willing to work flexible hours First aid/CPR training
