The intervenor supports communication and daily living for individuals with dual sensory impairment to promote independent living, which includes assisting in home and community settings. Key activities involve using specialized communication techniques, empowering individuals in daily tasks like hygiene and meal preparation, providing personal care, and assisting with goal and program development while ensuring accurate documentation.
Candidates must have a college diploma or certificate in the intervenor for deafblind persons program, or a related human services field like dsw, ssw, or psw. Required qualifications also include experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health conditions, proficiency in asl or see, and possessing a valid driver's license with access to a reliable vehicle.
