The intervenor supports communication and daily living for individuals with dual sensory impairment to promote independent living, which includes assisting in home and community settings. Key activities involve using specialized communication techniques, empowering participation in daily life tasks, providing personal care, and assisting with goal and program development.
Candidates must have a college diploma or certificate in a relevant field such as intervenor for deafblind persons, dsw, ssw, or psw, along with experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, challenging behaviors, and mental health conditions. A valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and proficiency in asl or see are also required.
