The successful candidate will pursue interdisciplinary, innovative, and independent research, establishing an externally funded program that innovates real-World healthcare solutions using data science, ai, and machine learning, integrating basic biology with clinical research strengths. Responsibilities also include undertaking undergraduate and graduate teaching at the utsc campus and actively participating in the graduate department of cell and systems biology.
Applicants must have a phd in biology, biomedical sciences, computational biology, ai/Machine learning, bioinformatics, or a related field by the appointment date, along with a minimum of two years of postdoctoral training demonstrating excellence in research and teaching. Candidates must also demonstrate a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, and be eligible for or nominated for a tier 2 canada research chair, typically requiring them to be within ten years of their phd.
