Specialist, Intervenor

The specialist, intervenor acts as a communicator and sighted guide for individuals who are deafblind, providing one-On-One support in their home or community settings. Key duties involve facilitating access to information, learning concepts, and empowering individuals to participate actively in community life, recreation, and education.

Candidates should possess knowledge of intervention theories and deafblindness culture, along with strong communication and interpersonal skills, flexibility, and the ability to work independently. A diploma or degree in human services is preferred, along with experience or willingness to learn alternate communication formats like two-Hand manual, asl, and braille.
