Position overview

The Supply Classroom Educator plays an essential role in supporting our campuses by providing flexible classroom coverage that maintains continuity and high-quality programming. Reporting to the Centre Director (or Team Mentor when assigned), this role supports curriculum delivery, ensures a safe and nurturing learning environment, and fosters positive relationships with children, families, and team members.

This position is ideal for educators who enjoy variety, adaptability, and contributing to the success of multiple classrooms while supporting the Childventures mission of excellence in early childhood education.

  • Key responsibilities
  • Provide classroom coverage in accordance with Childventures’ curriculum philosophy and standards
  • Implement age-appropriate programming that supports the cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development of children
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and emotionally supportive environment for all children
  • Attend to children’s daily care needs including comfort, hygiene, and supervision
  • Conduct observations and support accurate documentation of children’s development
  • Follow health, safety, and licensing standards at all times
  • Support quality assurance processes and assist during inspections as required
  • Foster positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
  • Collaborate with educators, Team Mentors, and Centre Directors to maintain program consistency
  • Support various classrooms or centres as operational needs require
  • Other duties as assigned to support campus success

Qualifications

  • Education & Training
  • An ECE degree/diploma and registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators (RECE), or an Early Childhood Assistant (ECA), or Child and Youth Worker/Care diploma (CYW/CYC), or Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) in good standing.
  • Experience
  • Experience working in a licensed childcare or early learning environment is considered an asset
  • Knowledge & Skills
  • Familiarity with the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA)
  • Strong interest in early childhood development and classroom engagement

  • Updated Immunizations (Tetanus, MMR)
  • Health Assessment (deemed fit for work)
