<p><b>French Immersion Teachers </b></p><p>Elementary (Primary grades K-3; and Intermediate grades 4-7) Secondary (Grades 8 – 12) </p><p>Burnaby School District invites applications from qualified French Immersion teachers for full-time and part-time contracts, TTOCs. </p><p>The Burnaby School District is the fourth largest in BC. Our District operates 41 elementary and 8 secondary schools, including a range of district programs and Provincial Resource Programs. The district enrols 25,000 K-12 students and employs over 4,000 dedicated employees who are committed to providing all students with a wide variety of innovative, high-quality programs to ensure student achievement in areas that include academics, athletics, trades training, visual and performing arts, social responsibility, and leadership. The district also provides lifelong learning opportunities to more than 16,000 adult learners through our established Burnaby Community & Continuing Education program. </p><p>Burnaby School District invites applications for Teachers Teaching-On-Call to be part of a team striving to engage and empower a caring, inclusive community of learners for the opportunities of today and tomorrow.</p><p><strong><u>Required Qualifications:</u></strong><strong> </strong></p><ul><li>Valid BC Teaching Certificate </li><li>Practicum reports and/or teacher evaluations (if available) </li><li>Successful completion of Criminal Records Search as carried out through the Ministry of Education Teachers' Regulation Branch </li><li>Knowledge of a broad range of effective instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of all students. </li><li>Knowledge of consultative and collaborative strategies </li></ul><strong><u>Additional qualifications for both Elementary and Secondary:</u></strong><strong> </strong><p><strong><u>Elementary:</u></strong> </p><ul><li>Bachelor of Education degree or academic equivalent </li><li>Demonstrated fluency and facility (both oral and written) in French and English </li><li>French Immersion methodology course </li><li>Major program concentration in the relevant area of primary or intermediate education including primary or intermediate methodology courses </li></ul><strong><u>Secondary:</u></strong> <ul><li>Bachelor of Education degree or academic equivalent </li><li>Demonstrated fluency and facility (both oral and written) in French and English </li><li>Subject specialty methodology course</li></ul><p><strong><u>Location(s):</u></strong></p><ul><li>Locations will vary throughout the district based on vacancy. </li><li>There are 9 Elementary schools that teach French Immersion: </li><li>Armstrong, Aubrey, Brantford, Cascade Heights, Inman, Marlborough, Seaforth, Sperling and Westridge. </li><li>There are 3 Secondary schools that teach French Immersion: Alpha, Cariboo Hill and Moscrop. </li></ul><strong><u>Salary and Benefits:</u></strong><strong> </strong><ul><li>Salary rate from $59,711 to $109,942 will be determined by years of experience as per the Teachers' Provincial Collective Agreement. </li><li>TTOC

Salary Range

$59,711 to $98,085 per annum based on Teachers' Salary Grid </li><li>Upon hire, opportunity to sign up for benefits as per the Teachers' Provincial Collective Agreement.
