District Vision Itinerant Teacher

<p><strong>DISTRICT VISION LEARNING SUPPORT TEACHER </strong><strong> </strong></p><p>Ongoing, Full-Time (1.0 FTE) & Part-Time (0.4 FTE)</p><p>The Burnaby School District is on the traditional territory of the Coast Salish Nations of Musqueam, Tsleil- Waututh and Squamish. </p><p>The Burnaby School District is the fourth largest in BC.

The District operates 41 elementary and 8 secondary schools, including a range of district and provincial resource programs.

The District supports and provides learning to 25,000 Kindergarten to Grade 12 (K-12) students and to more than 6,000 adult learners through our established Burnaby Community & Continuing Education program.

We offer mentoring and collaboration with experienced team members and/or members in the field. </p><p>Burnaby School District is seeking a <strong>Qualified </strong><b>Vision Itinerant Teacher</b><strong>. </strong></p><p><strong><br></br></strong><strong><u>Requirements:</u></strong><strong> </strong></p><ul><li>A diploma or Master's degree in education of the visually impaired; </li><li>Previous classroom teaching experience and hold or be eligible for a current valid B.C.

Teaching Certificate; </li><li>Ability to teach literary, Nemeth and UEB braille code; </li><li>Expertise in provision of alternate format instructional materials and specialized equipment, together with knowledge of technology and its application for blind and visually impaired students; </li><li>Successful experience in administering functional vision assessments; </li><li>Orientation and Mobility training an asset (preference given for COMS); </li><li>A valid driver's license</li></ul><strong><u>Application Details:</u></strong><strong> </strong><p>Your application should include your cover letter, resume, professional credentials, supporting documents, and a minimum of three references.
