Overview
Plan and organize provision of psychological services for specified programs or patient groups in consultation with leadership and in collaboration with clinic/program management. Coordinate and participate in interdisciplinary team activities for clinic/program service delivery. Provide comprehensive psychodiagnostic assessments and treatment services (cognitive, educational, social/emotional evaluations; individual/group therapy; behaviour management; play psychotherapy; hypnosis; biofeedback; parent groups). Document assessments, treatment plans, and outcomes; advise other members of the treatment team. Serve as primary Psychology contact for treatment teams and individuals/persons serving identified patient groups. Make recommendations for program planning/evaluation and revision of referral criteria, needs assessment, and case documentation procedures. Promote departmental services to the public, community, and professional groups as requested. Provide information and advice to colleagues, physicians, and hospital personnel regarding psychological assessment, treatment modalities, and patient care issues. Prepare and deliver in-service presentations and academic teaching to medical and health care learners/staff as requested. Represent the department at meetings as designated. Supervise and evaluate Psychology Residents and other trainees/students; participate in training for pre- and postdoctoral fellows as appropriate. Maintain currency in relevant scientific literature and apply evidence to clinical decision making; may initiate/participate in outcome investigations and/or clinical research.
