Job Description

  • The School of Health Sciences and Human Services is looking for a term instructor to teach in our Health Care Assistant (HCA) program. The following is required for successful employment at Camosun College:

    Additional Information

    The Continuing Care department is looking for a qualified instructor to teach in our Health Care Assistant (HCA) program. We have an 18% theory contract teaching Monday mornings and Wednesday afternoons at the John Horgan Campus on the Westshore.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
    • Current unrestricted full registration with the BCCNM
    • Three to five years of recent and relevant Canadian nursing experience (equivalent to full-time hours per year), including experience in acute care; with relevant knowledge of the Canadian health care system, the roles and responsibilities of healthcare team members and current policies and procedures within acute, long term care and community care settings.
    • Demonstrated ability to teach adult learners (e.g., completion of Provincial Instructor Diploma or equivalent education or previous teaching experience with satisfactory references or positive performance evaluations and student course evaluations).
