Positions of Special Responsibility receive an additional pay allowance in accordance with the collective agreement based on the levels 1, 2, or 3.</div><ul><li><div></div> <div>Please contact Lynn Decker, if you have any questions about this position.</div><p><b>Fine Arts/Music Teacher Requirements:</b></p><ul><li>excellent classroom management skills</li><li>experience training in primary and intermediate education</li><li>successful experience teaching at the primary and intermediate levels</li><li>specific training and coursework in the areas of music</li><li>ability and experience to develop and lead a student choir/musical performances with Orff instruments</li><li>training and ability to play and teach musical instruments (percussion, cord, key, Orff and music theory) </li><li>ability to differentiate instruction based on student needs</li><li>strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills</li><li>strong computer skills</li><li>specific training and coursework in the area of music</li></ul> <strong> </strong> <div><strong></strong> <p><strong>Secondary School Teacher</strong></p> <ul> <li>Possess a valid BC Teaching Certificate, membership in the BC Teachers Regulation Branch and eligibility for a Teachers Qualification Card.</li> <li>Bachelor of Education (Secondary) or equivalent with a major or minor in the subject area(s).</li> <li>Demonstrated current knowledge of the subject area, including Big Ideas, curricular competencies, content and appropriate resources</li> <li>Previous successful experience teaching the subject required</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to use a variety of teaching and assessment strategies</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment</li> <li>Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills</li> <li>Have knowledge and/or experience in the areas of outcomes-based instruction, assessment for learning, differentiated instruction and inclusive education</li> <li>Be proficient with technology and 21stcentury learning</li> <li>Demonstrate current understanding of culturally responsive learning environment and assessment practices</li> </ul> </div> <p> </p> </li></ul>
