THE FACULTY OF ARTS INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR CONTACT ACADEMIC STAFF POSITIONS IN THE DEPARTMENT OF HISTORY Course Name The History of Modern Medicine Course Number HIST-2912-001 Course Dates: 01/06/2027-04/05/2027 Contract Start Date December 04, 2026 Contract End Date May 14, 2027 Number of Classes 12 Class Times M/W 2:30 PM - 3:45 PM Projected Enrolment 48 Credit Hours 3 Location of Course Main Qualifications Post M.A. studies minimum ABD Remuneration $6,655 (inclusive of vacation pay based on 2019-2026 UWFA-CAS Agreement) Course Description: This course is a survey of the scientific, professional, and political development of medicine after 1700.
Topics include the development of scientific medicine, including the germ theory of disease.
