THE FACULTY OF ARTS INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR CONTACT ACADEMIC STAFF POSITIONS IN THE DEPARTMENT OF HISTORY Course Name Indigenous Peoples & Canada since 1815 Course Number HIST-2611-250/290 Course Dates: 01/07/2027-04/06/2027 Contract Start Date December 04, 2026 Contract End Date May 14, 2027 Number of Classes 12 Class Times T/TH 1:00 PM - 2:15 PM Projected Enrolment 25 Credit Hours 3 Location of Course HBO-ACCESS Qualifications Post M.A. studies minimum ABD Remuneration $6,655 (inclusive of vacation pay based on 2019-2026 UWFA-CAS Agreement) Course Description: This course traces Indigenous history since the War of 1812.
Beginning with the post-War period, the course examines the shifting policies and attempts by colonial governments to direct the assimilation of Indigenous people.
