Students will gain experience in generating ideas, clarifying insights, structuring arguments, composing paragraphs and sentences, critiquing and revising their writing, and communicating effectively to diverse audiences. This course may not be counted toward any English program. Minimum Qualifications

A background in literary study at the graduate level with a PhD in the field is required, as well as a recent and continuing record of academic publication either in literary studies or in rhetoric and composition. Demonstrated ability to teach students the skills of critical writing at the university level.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous teaching experience with ENG100H, or a closely equivalent first year composition course. Description of duties: All duties associated with teaching an Undergraduate Course:
  • Preparation of course outline, course syllabus, and course marking scheme
  • Planning seminar meetings, delivering seminar instructions, developing, marking and administering course assignments
