  • Your dedication and commitment will be instrumental in helping students with therapy follow-up, engaging them in home learning activities and virtual programming, and collaborating effectively as part of a cohesive team.
  • The children have a range of learning and behavioural needs that require a compassionate and flexible EA.
  • As an EA, you will receive support from therapists, a home learning support teacher, parents, and our Special Education Coordinator.
  • This collaborative environment will enable you to thrive in your role and make a significant difference in the lives of your students.</p><p><b>IN-CLASS</b>: Educational Assistants are key members of our dynamic classroom teams.
  • They assist in our inclusive classrooms to ensure all students, including those with disabilities, are supported and benefit from learning activities and instruction.
  • They will also help the classroom teacher with a variety of organization tasks such as taking attendance, preparing learning materials and directing small groups. <br></br> </p><p><strong>Core Competencies </strong></p><p>- <b>Model a Christian Walk: </b>Serve as a <strong>safe, trusted, and supportive adult</strong>, modelling an exemplary Christian walk in speech and action as a living example to the student body. </p><p><strong>- </strong> <strong>Foster Student Independence:</strong> Provide academic, social, emotional, and spiritual support by skillfully <strong>scaffolding tasks</strong> to encourage maximum student independence. </p><p><strong>- </strong> <strong>Advocate for Inclusion:</strong> Actively advocate for student inclusion within the home or community according to the <strong>Individual Education Plan (IEP)</strong> and create opportunities for students to be meaningfully integrated into the school community.</p><p><strong>- </strong> <strong>Develop Self-Advocacy:</strong> Guide students in gaining the necessary skills to advocate for their own learning preferences and personal needs. </p><p><strong>- </strong> <strong>Provide Unstructured Support:</strong> Deliver critical <strong>social-emotional and self-regulation supports</strong> during transitions and break-times to ensure student well-being outside of formal instruction. </p><p><strong>- </strong> <strong>Execute Interventions:</strong> Implement specific interventions and supports as mandated by the <strong>IEP</strong> and <strong>School-Based Team (SBT)</strong>. </p><p><strong>- </strong> <strong>Prepare Materials:</strong> Assist in preparing lesson materials and <strong>adaptations</strong> specifically related to identified student needs, as guided by the Teacher or <strong>Inclusive Education Coordinator (IEC)</strong>, if time permits.</p><p> <strong>- </strong> <strong>Supervise Routines:</strong> Supervise learning routines with authority and diligence, following the direction of the parent. </p><p><strong>- </strong> <strong>Contribute to IEPs:</strong> Attend IEP meetings and provide professional <strong>observations and data</strong> to inform the development of goals and desired student outcomes. </p><p><strong>- </strong> <strong>Collect Evidence of Learning:</strong> Gather evidence of student progress to assist teachers in assessment and the generation of <strong>IEP progress reports</strong>. </p><p><strong>- </strong> <strong>Maintain Documentation:</strong> Rigorously contribute to <strong>logs and data collection</strong> for students with behaviour plans or specialized requirements. </p><p><strong>- </strong> <strong>Pursue Professional Growth:</strong> Proactively develop expertise in specialized areas and pedagogical frameworks, such as <strong>Universal Design for Learning (UDL)</strong>, to support diverse learners. </p><p><strong>- </strong> <strong>Engage in Self-Assessment:</strong> Conduct regular <strong>self-assessments</strong> of job performance and maintain a portfolio of evidence regarding personal and professional growth. </p><p><strong>- </strong> <strong>Faith Integration:</strong> Model a profound love for Christ and students, maintaining a high standard of Christian conduct both during and outside of school hours. <strong><br></br></strong> </p><p> </p><p><strong>Target Start Date:</strong> September 14, 2026</p><p> </p><p><strong>
