The role involves guiding children in self-motivated, project-based learning while ensuring a safe and caring classroom environment. Responsibilities include collaborating on lesson plans, reporting student progress, and assisting with basic self-care needs.
Candidates must hold an ECE Level 2 or 3 certification and have at least one year of experience working with children. A current First Aid certificate and a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check are also required.

We are currently looking for On-Call Teachers that have strong interpersonal skills and find joy in working with children and adults. The ideal candidate will be committed to learning and teaching in emergent, project-based ways, lead by example for the children and ensure a positive and collaborative work environment with all teachers in the classroom.
Make a difference every day! Spark imagination, build self-esteem and help children discover new things each day. Guide children in self-motivated learning, helping stimulate their natural desire to learn. Encourage children through role modeling and guidance to respect themselves and others. Collaborate with classroom teams for planning and implementation of weekly lesson plans. Plan open ended activities with an emphasis on process orientation and developmentally appropriate curriculum with age-appropriate and individualized activities. Be responsible for reporting challenges, successes and competencies of each student to the Director or to parents on a regular basis. Supervise the classroom, helping the children to think creatively, to solve problems independently and respect themselves and others. Be responsible for ensuring an educational, caring and safe environment for the children. Assist children with self-care (i.e. dressing, diapering, feeding). Other duties as assigned by Lead Teachers and Program Supervisors.
WHAT YOU BRING (PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS) Minimum one year experience working with children Early Childhood Certification - ECE Level 2 or 3 Reggio-inspired or Montessori experience is an asset. Current First Aid Certificate (may be obtained upon hire) Criminal Record Check, with Vulnerable Sector Check, within past 6 months (may be obtained upon hire)
