Practical Nurse Instructors - Part Time Faculty/Instructor Profile Red Deer Polytechnic’s School of Health & Wellness is hiring for Part Time Practical Nurse Instructors for the upcoming academic year! Our Part-Time Instructors have a variety of start and end dates throughout the academic year. While most courses will be offered at Red Deer Polytechnic main campus or online, instructors are also expected to travel to deliver courses at other locations as needed. Position Responsibilities Under the direction of the Associate Dean of Practical Nursing, the successful candidate will have the following key responsibilities: Teaching students in classroom, lab, and/or clinical settings with flexibility for both face-to-face and online course delivery Creating a stimulating, effective, and learner-centered environment which includes preparing, reviewing and/or updating course material Marking, grading, and evaluation of student work Travel to rural sites for labs and clinical instruction Providing ongoing feedback, guidance, and assistance to students Actively contributing and participating in program planning, curriculum review, project work, and scholarly activity Participating in School and Polytechnic-wide initiatives and/or committees Upholding the Professional Responsibilities of Faculty at RDP which are described within the Faculty Performance Policy Demonstrating and promoting RDP organizational values and following RDP policies and practices. Instructors uphold the professional responsibilities of faculty and demonstrate RDP organizational values by following related policies and practices. They are supported by the Centre for Teaching, Learning and Scholarship and are provided with a comprehensive onboarding experience to help ensure their success. Required Qualifications Current registration as an LPN with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA) or a Registered Nurse with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) Current Heart and Stroke Foundation Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider or Recertification Certificate, or willingness to obtain upon hire Respiratory Fit Testing or willingness to obtain upon hire Valid Driver’s License A satisfactory Criminal Record Check in accordance with the Polytechnic’s Criminal Record Check policy Current Immunization as per RDP requirements

Salary Salary Commensurate with education and experience Benefits and Compensation Information Part-time Instructors: Receive an additional 14% of their gross salary in lieu of benefits and vacation pay. Part-time instructors are not eligible for comprehensive health and dental benefits packages.
