Job Description

Great Plains College is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic secondary instructor for our Primary Care Paramedics Program at the Warman Campus. The instructor will facilitate the Saskatchewan Polytechnic Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) Program delivery including providing tutorial assistance, facilitating labs, scenario skill practice, and small groups. They will manage the learning environment in alignment with the Saskatchewan Polytechnic Paramedic Program policies and accreditation requirements.

Education

Required Pre-requisites

• Completion of an Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) Program from an approved school

  • Experience
  • A minimum of two years of recent experience as an ACP
  • Other Education and Training
  • Licensed and in good standing with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP)
  • Current provider-level certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support (PALS)
  • Well-developed interpersonal and oral communications skills including excellent written and presentation skills and an ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with students, instructors, program administrators, employers, other clients and the public
  • Establish and maintain relationships with Saskatchewan Polytechnic

Desired Pre-requisites

  • Current instructor-level status with International Trauma Life Support (ITLS)
  • Current instructor-level status with Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Instructor-level status with The Working Mind First Responder (TWMFR formerly R2MR)
  • Instructor-level status with Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA)
  • Instructor-level status with Saskatchewan Government Insurance (SGI) Defensive Driving Course
  • Instructor-level status with Pediatric Education for the Prehospital Provider (PEPP)
  • Experience in delivering lectures is considered an asset.
