About the Role
CASA House is a live-in program for teens who need support with significant mental health and/or addictions challenges. Teens stay at CASA House for an average of four months. The program involves parents and caregivers as active participants in treatment. Treatment includes individual, group and family therapy, social and life skills training, and on-site schooling in small classroom settings.
The Therapy Support Navigator will
- Assist mental health therapists with assessment interviews, as needed.
- Participate in the case management of assigned caseload.
- Provide hands-on modelling and coaching to family members as determined by the Mental Health Therapist and guided by the treatment plan.
- Contribute to program planning.
- Contribute to the development and use of performance indicators and other activities related to continuous quality improvement.
- Contribute to staff knowledge and understanding of discipline-specific issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, child and youth care, early childhood education or a related field.
- Practical experience in a children’s mental health treatment setting.
Conditions of Employment
- A satisfactory Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search. This would be the financial responsibility of the successful candidate.
- A satisfactory Child Intervention Check.
- Ability to pass and maintain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification (training provided by CASA), as well as physical ability to perform all interventions.
