Position Title

Part-Time Academic (NURS 2720.03: Health and Healing I (Pathophysiology and Therapeutics)) - Fall 2026 Posting Number PTAP3066P Department/Unit Nursing Location Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada Job Summary & Key Responsibilities NURS2720.03 – Health and Healing I (Pathophysiology and Therapeutics) – Fall 2026 Fundamentals of health and disease patterns, the role of genetics, developmental biology and environment are explored. Cellular mechanisms, inflammatory and infectious responses and cellular biology of cancer are investigated. Diagnosis and therapeutic concepts including preventative therapies and pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions with consideration of age and cultural variations are introduced. FORMAT: Lecture/Tutorial (2 × 2h/week) – In-Person delivery on Wednesdays and Fridays. The successful candidate will be co-teaching this course with another lecturer. This appointment runs from September 1, 2026 until December 31, 2026. The part-time academic instructor reports directly to the Associate Director, Undergraduate Studies Academic. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Development of teaching and learning activities related to course-specific topics Teach course content Assessment and evaluation of student learning Use of Brightspace for course delivery Responding to student queries about coursework Attending initial instruction with Instructional Learning Online services re: Brightspace Participation in course discussions within the program Develop and administer examinations Submission of grades Follow up with students as necessary Qualifications/Requirements of Position Candidates must hold a graduate degree in Nursing, or related field, with a strong background in pharmacology including pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics and pathophysiology. Prior teaching experience an asset. PhD preferred. Salary Range/Pay Rate Per CUPE Collective Agreement
