Job description
<p>All positions within Learning Services engage in supporting the District’s Strategic Plan, specifically, Strategic Priority 1: Success for all Learners and Strategic Priority 2: Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. The School Psychologist position includes opportunities to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment in the context of the Learning Services Department and with school personnel. This position also involves professional consultation and supporting educational changes in a variety of contexts.</p><p>The successful candidate will also:</p><ul><li>Provide collaborative consultation with teachers, parents, and community agencies, and at school-based team meetings</li> <li>Provide ongoing collaborative planning for students and classrooms and assist with pre-referral interventions</li> <li>Provide individualized psycho-educational assessments (based on student need) for students referred through the school-based team process</li> <li>Contribute to the development of educational plans such as the IEP</li> <li>Provide in-service training in the areas of interventions, progress monitoring, data collection and/or assessment</li> <li>Assist with the Ministry of Education processes for designation and adjudication</li> <li>Provide professional learning opportunities for staff </li> </ul><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>A master’s degree in school/educational psychology</li> <li>Licensing/eligibility with the College of Health Care Professionals of British Columbia (CHCPBC)with special training and supervision in school psychology</li> <li>Teaching certification with BC Teacher Regulation Branch an asset</li> </ul><p>If you have any questions about this position, please contact Sarah Loat, District Administrator – Inclusive Learning.</p><p> <br></br></p>
