Courses

We are seeking candidates eligible to teach a broad range of graduation program core and elective subjects, including English Language Arts, English First Peoples, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Science, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Social Studies, Technology, Physical Education, and Drama.

Responsibilities

  • Bring a student-centered, inquiry based, and collaborative approach to the delivery of the BC Modernized Curriculum. (Grades 10-12)
  • Create a positive and supportive culture for learning
  • Work collaboratively across the school to enhance the classroom and co-curricular experience
  • Prepare robust lesson plans, assessments & evaluations, and remain committed to the British Columbia Standards for Educators in all endeavors as a teacher, mentor and role model
  • Possess a keen interest in fostering diversity, inclusion, equity, and social justice to promote a healthy learning environment
  • Engage in positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and community members

Qualifications

  • Essential: B.C. Ministry of Education Certificate of Qualification or Independent School teaching certificate.
  • Relevant post-secondary education in a related field.
  • Experience as a teacher with either of the following subjects: Social Sciences / Humanities / English / Math / Science
  • Experience as an English as a second language teacher an asset
  • Commitment to the craft of teaching, best practices, and standards of professional practice
  • A collaborative and energetic approach to teaching
  • An awareness of varied learning styles, the importance of core competencies, and the value of First Peoples Principles of Learning
