  • Key responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality care and supervision to children on an as-needed, on-call basis
  • Support the implementation of Emergent Curriculum in alignment with each child’s development and learning journey
  • Maintain daily documentation, attendance, and ensure a safe, engaging classroom environment
  • Promote children’s emotional, cognitive, physical, and behavioural development
  • Step into different classrooms as needed and ensure continuity of care and routines
  • Follow all health, safety, and licensing regulations, including maintaining proper classroom ratios
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with centre staff during shifts

Qualifications

  • Valid Nova Scotia ECE License
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Check and Child Abuse Registry Check
  • Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Certification (Level B or C)
  • Flexibility and reliability to work on short notice
  • Ability to safely push, pull, or lift up to 45 lbs
