- Job Duties/Qualifications, Skills and Abilities(QSA) Job Duties Job Duties The Undergraduate Nursing Student Research Assistant position is open to qualified undergraduate nursing students in our Saskatchewan Collaborative Bachelor of Science in Nursing program with an interest in research and a desire to gain hands-on experience in research activities.
- Successful applicants will have the opportunity to work alongside researchers on active projects and contribute to various stages of the research process.
Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct literature and information searches, including retrieval and review of relevant sources Assist with various phases of research activities, including participant recruitment, data collection, data management, entry, verification, analysis, and interpretation Support the coordination of research projects under the direction of the supervising researcher Assist in the preparation of presentations, reports, media releases, and manuscripts for publication Provide support for research-related activities, including assistance with online applications and CV preparation Establish and maintain collegial working relationships with researchers, faculty, students, and colleagues Collaborate with researchers and partners from other organizations, where applicable Hours of work will be determined in consultation with the supervisor. Up to two weeks of unpaid leave may be taken within the contract period. QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE Specific Accountabilities Duties Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA) Successful completion of CNUR 209: Nursing Research Methods course Current Saskatchewan Collaborative Bachelor of Science in Nursing (SCBScN) student in good academic standing Availability to work May 8 – July 28 GPA will be considered as part of the application process Current CPR and First Aid certification, and up-to-date immunizations Demonstrated proficiency with internet use, email, and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Familiarity with Saskatchewan Polytechnic library resources and databases Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously Ability to work independently and meet established deadlines Strong attention to detail and accuracy Research experience is considered an asset but is not required.
