- 83 is presently seeking</b></i></p><p><b>Clerical (On-Call)</b><strong> </strong></p><p>School District No.
- 83 (Kwsaltktnéws ne Secwepemcúl'ecw ) is seeking qualified <strong>Clerical On-Call</strong> for placement on the Clerical Spare Board, serving all areas of the district.
- The wage rate is anywhere from $23.58 - $33.43 per hour.
- This position only works when students are in session.
- Clerical relief will have the opportunity to apply on internal part-time and full-time opportunities. </p><p><strong><u>THE DISTRICT</u></strong><u>:</u> </p><p>In the School District, we serve just over 6,700 students and <strong>1200 staff across 26 schools operating through a variety of sites located throughout Shuswap Lake and North Okanagan.</strong> We are known for strong academic achievement, a thriving trades and careers program, and a rich culture of school athletics.

- Our Strategic Plan prioritizes a “students first” focus on success, organizational efficiency, and a culture of health and wellness as our key goals. </p><p><strong><u>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</u></strong></p><ul><li>Depending on the assignment the incumbent may be required to work as a receptionist, library clerk, career clerk or school secretary.</li><li>Provide general clerical duties - including entering data, performing word processing duties, maintaining, and filing a variety of files and records relating to attendance, addresses, transfers, and lockers and receive and receipt monies and prepare bank deposits.</li><li>Communication including receiving, screening, and directing phone calls and mail; communicating with staff, students and others and responding to inquiries and providing general information including responding to angry or upset staff, students, and others.</li></ul><p><strong><u>QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED</u></strong>:</p><ul><li>Completion of Grade 12, including secretarial or administrative training through a recognized community college or vocational program. </li><li>A minimum of one (1) year recent experience clerical or administrative experience. </li><li>Bookkeeping and basic accounting experience is considered an asset. </li><li>Ability to type 50 w.p.m. with a high level of accuracy, and to perform clerical duties efficiently using Microsoft Word and Excel. </li><li>Proficient in business English, including spelling and business math. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to efficiently operate standardized office equipment, including photocopiers, scanners, and phone systems. </li><li>Proficient in the use of office software including Microsoft Office applications. </li><li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact in professional, cooperative, and courteous manner with staff, parents, students and the public.</li><li>Valid Class 5 driver's license and reliable vehicle.</li></ul>Shortlisted candidates will be required to successfully complete a clerical assessment. <p><strong>How to Apply</strong> </p><p>Interested candidates should submit a cover letter, resume detailing relevant qualifications and experience, three (3) professional references, copies of certificates on Make a Future at<a></a><a></a><u><a></a> <b>by Friday, May 29, 2026</b>.</u> If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Tracey Ward, Human Resources Specialist – Support Staff at 250-804-7842. </p><p><strong>SCHOOL DISTRICT NO.
