We are currently seeking a compassionate and committed individual to join our team as an Overnight Childcare Worker.
Position Overview
As an Overnight Childcare Worker, you will provide essential overnight support in a foster home setting. This includes meal preparation, basic housekeeping, and ensuring the safety and well-being of children during overnight hours. Flexibility, adaptability, and attention to detail are key to succeeding in this role. We are looking for someone who is confident, motivated, and professional, with the ability to work as part of a dynamic team and handle changing situations effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Remain awake and alert throughout all working hours to ensure the safety of children in care.
- Ensure adherence to the home’s Fire Safety Plan and other safety protocols.
- Conduct room checks as required, accurately documenting tasks and observations.
- Attend to children’s childcare needs during overnight or evening hours, providing a safe and supportive environment.
- Perform basic housekeeping duties, including sweeping, mopping, and kitchen maintenance.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and throughout the home.
- Properly dispose of waste and ensure the overall cleanliness of the home.
Qualifications
- Childcare experience or relevant education (Early Childhood Education or Youth Care Worker preferred).
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with children, supervisors, and partnering agencies.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Valid driver’s license.
- A recent Criminal Records Check (within the past 3 months).
