We are excited to welcome a Curriculum and Instructional Design Specialist (CIDS) who creates and maintains curriculum materials of high quality and supports instructors in developing robust teaching strategies.

About the Role

The CIDS collaborates with program relevant industry experts including Department Heads (DHs), Curriculum Development Managers (CDMs), Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and Faculty to develop, maintain, and evaluate curriculum.

  • The CIDS uses advanced knowledge of education best practices to shape information provided by DH/CDMs, SMEs, and Faculty for optimal student learning and to meet the requirements of regulators. Together with the DH/CDM, the CIDS monitors student and faculty feedback about course materials and then formulates plans to address gaps and continually improve the curriculum. The CIDS budgets for, contracts, and project manages contributions of SMEs as needed to create, review, and revise curriculum.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the DH/CDM to define curriculum projects, considering learner demographics, learning goals, regulatory requirements, program structure, organizational context, and budget.
  • Design outcomes-based curriculum aligned with institutional philosophy, using instructional design processes to ensure alignment across competencies, learning outcomes, assessments, activities, and resources.
  • Identify and select accessible, inclusive, and academically rigorous learning resources and technologies that support diverse learners and meet curriculum goals.
  • Develop curriculum materials with SMEs, ensuring adherence to standards and peer review; apply Universal Design for Learning principles and incorporate interactive digital content, along with active learning methodologies like flipped classrooms and project-based learning.
  • Support course implementation by orienting instructors to course structure and Moodle, ensuring accurate setup, and collaborating with Learning Experience Administrators to prepare the learning environment.
  • Evaluate curriculum effectiveness using student and faculty feedback and achievement of learning outcomes; document and implement revisions based on evidence.
  • Manage projects by preparing budgets, coordinating SME contracts and peer reviews, tracking deliverables, processing payroll, coaching SMEs and instructors, supporting faculty development, and ensuring all curriculum changes meet institutional and regulatory compliance standards.

Qualifications: and Requirements:

Required

one of the following

  • Bachelor of Education degree and 1+ year experience designing, developing, and/or delivering curriculum within an adult education learning environment
  • Completion of an adult education credential and 3 years’ experience designing, developing, and/or delivering curriculum within an adult education environment
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required

  • Minimum typing speed of 45wpm

Preferred

  • In-depth knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models preferred
  • Background in Adult Education preferred
  • Experience in program/course design
  • Proficient lesson and curriculum planning skills
