The faculty member is responsible for teaching, knowledge dissemination, providing cultural support to learners, and contributing to administration, coordination, research, and community engagement, always privileging indigenous knowledge in all aspects of program development and delivery. Key duties include developing curriculum, instructing courses within a cultural framework, facilitating traditional practices, offering learner support, and participating in program evaluation sessions.
Candidates must possess a master's degree in a relevant discipline along with a minimum of three years of post-Master’s experience in post-Secondary teaching and curriculum development, or an equivalent combination of education and practice. Essential requirements include demonstrated experience in indigenous education, knowledge of indigenous histories and cultures, and a combination of indigenous knowledge, teachings, training, and lived or professional experience deemed appropriate for the role.
