The faculty member is responsible for teaching, knowledge dissemination, providing cultural support to learners, and contributing to administration, coordination, research, and community engagement, while privileging indigenous knowledge in all aspects of program delivery. This includes preparing and delivering courses, assessing learner performance, facilitating cultural protocols, and offering ongoing learner support throughout the course cycle.
Candidates must possess a combination of indigenous knowledge and teachings along with training and experience in areas like indigenous history, indigenous law, or canadian/Aboriginal law. A relevant degree or master’s degree is required, along with at least three years of post-Secondary teaching experience and demonstrated experience working with indigenous learners and communities.
