Job description

We are currently seeking Registered Cardiology Technologists (RCTs) to join our faculty as Lab Instructors within the Cardiology Technologist Program. This role offers a meaningful opportunity to give back, mentor future professionals, and share real-world expertise in a supportive academic environment.

Employment Type: Part-time Contract

Location: Vancouver, BC

Compensation: $42-$47 per hour

Schedule

  • Weekends: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Weekdays:
  • Combination of day shifts (9:00 AM – 3:30
  • PM) and evening shifts (5:00 PM – 9:30 PM)

  • June 30 – July 19
  • August 22 – September 27

Labs operate seven days per week with designated days off. Instructors must be available for a minimum of 2–3 shifts per week.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate lab skills as necessary in ECG, ETT and Holter analysis
  • Review and teach Stenberg curriculum to students in the simulated setting.
  • Assist with all demonstrations scheduled during each lab session and assist in preparing students for the hands-on practice session
  • Excellent communication and collaboration with the Lead Lab instructor and other instructors
  • Actively observe and check in with assigned students working in the lab and answer all questions put forward by the students
  • Evaluate students in accordance with specified criteria and complete detailed written evaluations on each student as required
  • Provide feedback to students in the moment and question students to ensure they have a full understanding or expectations
  • Participate in the lab debriefing session with the students – highlight student strengths, areas for improvement, correct procedures, etc.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years relevant and recent work experience as an RCT.
  • Current CPR-C certification or equivalency training.
  • Member in good status with provincial association.
  • Previous preceptor training experience is an asset.
