The safer communities adviser acts as the central point for enquiries regarding student behaviours of concern, providing initial responses, guidance to staff, and coordinating timely support for students. Key duties involve gathering information, conducting risk assessments, implementing risk management strategies, and referring complex matters to the behaviour assessment and management (Bam) team.
Candidates must possess a relevant university degree and extensive experience in fields like clinical or forensic psychology, social work, or criminology, with proven ability to provide trauma-Informed support and expertise in case management and risk assessment. Essential qualities include strong judgment, empathy, cultural awareness, and highly developed communication skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders.
