The counsellor will deliver targeted substance prevention and early intervention services to middle school students, including direct individual or group-Based services and building capacity with school staff regarding substance use issues. Responsibilities also involve identifying at-Risk students, providing assessments, brief counselling, service planning, referrals, and educating the broader school community on resiliency and risk reduction.
Preferred education includes a bsw or a bachelor’s degree in a related field like addictions counselling or human services, coupled with a minimum of two years of relevant experience. Candidates must possess a valid bc driver's license, regional insurance, a reliable vehicle, and successfully pass a criminal record search.
