Psychiatrist

The staff psychiatrist is responsible for providing comprehensive psychiatry services within the student health service, including assessment, triage, psychotherapy, medication management, and emergency/Crisis response for predominantly adolescent and early adult students. They will also support referral pathways, assist in policy development, and serve as the first point of contact for psychiatry consultations within student health & wellbeing.

Candidates must hold an accredited medical degree and complete an accredited fellowship in psychiatry recognized by the royal college of physicians of canada, along with an active, unrestricted medical license in british columbia prior to the start date. Preferred qualifications include 3+ years of experience in young adult psychiatry, competencies in telehealth, and knowledge of student development theory and evidence-Based practice.
