The nurse assists in planning, implementing, and evaluating public health program activities based on health determinants and best practices, providing health information, consultation, and support in various settings. Responsibilities also include developing educational materials, conducting educational programs, providing parenting support, reducing communicable diseases through immunization, screening young children, precepting students, and maintaining accurate records.
A bachelor of science in nursing (Bscn) and a basic life support certificate (Bls) are required, along with registration or eligibility with the college of registered nurses of saskatchewan (Crns). Candidates must possess the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, and effectively communicate with clients from diverse economic, social, and cultural backgrounds.
