Library assistants act as customer service ambassadors, connecting people to necessary resources by assisting diverse patrons with tasks ranging from language learning materials to ebook downloads and answering questions using internet-Based resources. They are also expected to be active in the community by visiting organizations and developing and presenting classes and events for all ages, with an emphasis on activities for young children.
Candidates must possess an information management/Library technology diploma, a related diploma with a focus on education or community work, or an undergraduate degree, along with a minimum of one year of experience in a library or a core customer service environment. Required abilities include excellent communication, comfort with technology facilitation, creative problem-Solving, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion principles.
