The coordinator is responsible for student development, engagement, mentorship, leadership, and academic support programs, services, events, and workshops aimed at promoting the transition, retention, and academic success of indigenous students. This role involves developing and implementing culturally appropriate support programs, planning events, managing communications, and ensuring the maintenance of the indigenous student centre facility and student lab.
Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in arts or education along with three years of related experience managing indigenous support programs at a post-Secondary institution, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Essential qualifications include excellent knowledge of indigenous education issues and cultures, good administrative process knowledge, and excellent planning, analytical, and communication skills.
