Nurse Learner (RPN) - Supervised Practice Experience Partnership (SPEP)

The nurse learner is responsible and accountable for providing patient care under the direct supervision of an assigned nurse preceptor, adhering to organizational policies and professional standards. This involves working with the preceptor to develop necessary knowledge, skills, and judgment for duties like physical assessments, medication administration, and implementing nursing interventions.

Eligibility for the supervised practice experience partnership (Spep) is determined by the college of nurses of ontario (Cno), generally available to registered practical nurse (Rpn) applicants who meet all registration requirements except for evidence of practice or both evidence of practice and language proficiency. Applicants must provide evidence of qualification for spep and, if applicable, a nursing license from another jurisdiction or evidence of registration in the non-Practicing class.
