Overview
Supervise students and deliver special programs as part of an interdisciplinary team with a focus on student support. Build and maintain relationships with students to promote attendance and success. Provide crisis intervention, individual assistance, and primary counseling for students with academic, emotional, or social issues. Advocate for students by providing community information and facilitating student referrals. Implement, monitor, and communicate group or individual programs to school staff and parents, which may include home visits. Provide career and course selection information. Develop, implement, and/or facilitate life skills programs (health, parenting, independent living, employment). Provide clerical services including maintaining records and ordering supplies. Maintain working knowledge of current computer technology and demonstrate educational computer resources to students. Organize and lead life skills food and/or school meals programs in accordance with school meal guidelines. Organize and participate in field trips and other activities. Transport students in district or district-authorized vehicles as required. Operate a personal computer for educational purposes. Support Take a Hike program activities including SEL implementation, family connection, community support connections, and assisting with IEP goal development. Assist in leading expeditions and out-day excursions and participate in multi-day overnight camping trips, student volunteer program, and events
