Foster belonging, privacy, safety and overall well-being in a safe, inclusive, nurturing, culturally grounded environment. Integrate Cowichan culture, language, values and traditions into daily interactions and learning experiences. Provide continuous supervision and respond immediately to safety concerns, medical needs and emergencies. Assist with personal care (toileting, diapering, feeding and other activities of daily living) while maintaining dignity. Support positive behaviour and emotional well-being using relationship-based practices and developmentally appropriate strategies. Maintain a clean, organized and safe early learning environment (classroom setup, materials, housekeeping as required). Collaborate with the Childcare Manager, Early Childhood Educators and external service providers to support inclusive programming. Share observations regarding participation, progress and emerging needs to support planning and continuous improvement. Participate in team meetings, case planning and support planning as required. Maintain accurate, objective documentation and daily communication logs. Assist with daily sign-in and sign-out procedures as required. Document and immediately report safety concerns, injuries and incidents according to organizational procedures. Maintain confidentiality of child and family information. QSL-LLE-ECISW-0726</b></p><p><strong>PURPOSE:</strong> Reporting to the LLE Childcare Manager, the Early Childhood Inclusion Support Worker (1:1) provides individualized developmental, behavioural, social-emotional and physical support to an identified child within Le'lum'uy'lh Daycare.

Working collaboratively with Early Childhood Educators, families and external service providers, the position implements individualized support strategies and care plans that promote inclusion, participation, independence and optimal child development within an inclusive early learning environment.

The position supports the child's successful participation in daily routines, learning experiences and peer interactions while fostering a safe, inclusive, nurturing and culturally grounded environment.

This is a full-time permanent position based primarily at Le'lum'uy'lh Daycare, with minimal local travel required.</p><p><strong>COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:</strong> Cowichan Tribes offers excellent health and dental benefits and pension plan, with benefits eligibility beginning after one month of employment and pension plan eligibility after three months.

The position includes paid training, paid vacation and paid sick leave.

Depending on experience, the position starts at $32.97 - $34.58 per hour.</p><p><i>Compensation includes the $6.00 per hour British Columbia Early Childhood Educator Wage Enhancement Initiative, funded by the Ministry of Education </i><i>&</i><i> Child Care</i><i> </i><i>and is contingent upon continued program eligibility and funding availability.</i></p><p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p><p><u>Provide Individualized Inclusion Support</u></p><ul><li>Provide one-to-one support in accordance with the child's Individual Support Plan (ISP) and established daycare program goals</li><li>Implement individualized strategies that support the child's developmental, behavioural, social-emotional, communication and physical needs</li><li>Facilitate the child's active participation in daily routines, learning experiences, outdoor play, meals, transitions, community outings and peer interactions</li><li>Promote independence by supporting the development of communication and self-regulation skills using developmentally appropriate practices and positive guidance techniques</li><li>Adapt activities, materials and the learning environment to support inclusion, engagement and successful participation</li><li>Observe, monitor and respond proactively to the child's behavioural, emotional and sensory needs, adjusting support strategies as appropriate</li><li>Foster the child's sense of belonging, privacy, safety and overall well-being</li><li>Other related duties as required</li></ul><u>Promote Safe, standards, organizational policies and established support plans</li><li>Provide continuous supervision of the assigned child and respond immediately and appropriately to safety concerns, medical regarding the child's participation, progress and emerging needs to support ongoing planning and continuous improvement</li><li>Participate in team meetings, case planning and support planning as required</li><li>Foster respectful, collaborative relationships with families, colleagues and external service providers to support the child's success</li><li>Other related duties as required</li></ul><u>Administrative Support</u><ul><li>Maintain accurate, objective documentation regarding the child's progress, observations and significant incidents</li><li>Maintain daily practices</li><li>Knowledge of BC Child Care Licensing Regulations and the ability to maintain compliance within daily operations</li><li>Ability to build positive, respectful and trusting relationships with children, families, colleagues and external service providers</li><li>Strong observation, documentation, communication, organizational and teamwork skills</li><li>Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality and uphold professional boundaries</li><li>Ability to use augmentative communication devices and other communication modalities to support children's communication, participation and independence</li><li>Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including sitting on the floor with full range of motion, bending, kneeling and stooping to Requirements

Valid British Columbia Early Childhood Educator Assistant certificate required.

Current First Aid certification including Child Safe and Infant CPR required.
