The Learning Centre Teacher is responsible for overseeing educational programming and implementing inclusive teaching strategies for students with academic and behavioral needs. They will work closely with teaching assistants to ensure a structured and engaging learning environment.
Valid NS teacher certification Masters in Special or Inclusive Education an asset Learning centre teaching experience Knowledge and experience with technology applications to enhance instruction and learning. (ie: google classroom, etc) Proficiency in Google Workspace, email and basic computer skills Knowledge of Mi’kmaq culture, traditions and language an asset Knowledge and experience implementing inclusive teaching strategies for students with academic and behavioral needs Ability to work closely with TA’s to oversee and ensure appropriate educational programming Strong interpersonal and communication skills Strong classroom and student management and ability to create structured and engaging learning environments
Salary: According to Eskasoni Teacher Salary Scale
August 14, 2026 at 3:00 PM In accordance with the Eskasoni Teachers' Union Local 80510 Collective Bargaining unit members will be given preference.
Preference will be given to Indigenous people in accordance with the Aboriginal Employment preferences policy of the Canadian Human Rights Commission.
