The School The role is within our School of Applied Sciences and Technology. The School offers a variety of programming in Fine Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, Sciences, and Animal Health Technology. Through this programming, we offer a variety of certificates, diplomas, university transfer courses, as well as a degree in computing science. The Role The Humanities and Social Sciences Department requires a Philosophy Instructor to teach the following courses in Fall 2026 and Winter 2027.
Fall PH3330 – Professional Ethics (2 sections)
Winter PH1020 – Introduction to Philosophy: Knowledge and Reality TW1030 – Technical Communications and Ethics Course descriptions are available at https://www.nwpolytech.ca/courses. Course delivery is on-campus in Grande Prairie with simultaneously remote instruction over Teams for PH1020. This part-time sessional position will commence on August 15, 2026.
PhD in Philosophy required.
Evidence of successful instruction of undergraduate philosophy courses is an asset.
Ability to teach both online and classroom-based courses.
Knowledge of current educational technologies (videoconferencing, learning management systems) desired.
Knowledge of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s 94 Calls to Action.
