About the role

The teacher will deliver International Baccalaureate (IB) units incorporating the BC curriculum to junior school students. They are expected to support students' academic and personal growth while contributing to the school's co-curricular programs.

Glenlyon Norfolk School (GNS) is an independent JK to Grade 12 International Baccalaureate and Round Square day and boarding school located on two campuses in Victoria, BC, Canada. At GNS, we provide an exceptional educational experience for students from age three to Grade 12, emphasizing robust academics, healthy social and emotional development, and inquiry-based, student-centred learning within a supportive community. Guided by the IB framework, we foster creativity, critical thinking, and a love of learning that prepares students for success in school and beyond.

What You’ll Bring

You will hold a valid BC teaching certificate and bring strong experience in teaching literacy and numeracy at varying grade levels.

IB training and PYP experience is preferred but not required.

A reflective and student-centred educator, you value inquiry-based and differentiated learning, fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and confidence in every child.

You collaborate closely with colleagues to design engaging experiences that deepen understanding and support learning across all areas of the curriculum.

With a growth mindset and commitment to continuous professional learning, you remain current in best practices in literacy, numeracy, social-emotional development and elementary pedagogy, contributing to a vibrant and inclusive learning environment where every student is supported and inspired to reach their full potential.

Compensation is determined by education and experience; the grid ranges from $71,904 - $116,500.
